Studio notes Buying and caring for art
How to buy a painting or print from Bayton Studio
Nothing on this website has a basket. Here is how buying a piece from us works, from finding it to taking it home.
2 min read
You will not find a basket or a checkout anywhere on this website, and that is on purpose. An original painting or print is not a thing to buy in a hurry, and we would rather talk to you about it first. Here is how it works.
Find the piece
Artwork for sale shows everything that is still available, from both of us, and you can narrow it to John's paintings or Pauline's prints. Each of us also has a page of our own: John Roger Bradley and Pauline Bradley, with the available work first.
If you remember a title, a place or a technique, use the search. Try "loch", "moor", "woodcut" or "collograph".
Ask about it
Every painting and print has a page of its own, with the picture larger and what we know about it underneath: the medium, the size and the year. Under that is a short form with the artwork's name already filled in. Tell us what you would like to know. People usually ask:
- the price;
- whether it is framed, and how;
- how big it will look on their wall;
- for a print, the paper it is printed on.
We will reply as soon as we can.
Come and see it
A picture on a screen is never quite the real thing. Colours shift from one screen to the next, and the texture of John's paint or the embossing of Pauline's paper does not show at all. Our display studio is quite large and allows easy viewing of the work, and there is plenty of room to park. Ask about a visit in your message and we will find a time.
Agreeing the sale
Nothing is reserved or sold until we have agreed it with you, by email or on the phone. We will talk through the details together then.
Seen something that has sold?
We are both gallery artists with Bebb Fine Art in Ludlow, and some work sells there. You can see it on Sold at BFA. If a sold piece is the one you wanted, tell us anyway: there may well be work in the same vein in the studio.
Start with what is available
Every painting and print still for sale, from both artists.
